The Basics
Born and raised in Northwest Indiana, just a stones throw away from Chicago, I knew from an early age that engineering was my dream job. I continued my pursuit through college, finally attaining what I longed for: a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Then, three days before I was to begin my career, I sent in my resignation letter to go down a new career path: youth ministry!

About Matt
The Adventure
This would be a decision that changed my life. I began my work in the parish and for the next five years, soaked in all that I could. My ministry would allow me to accompany young Catholics in their life journeys, travel on mission trips, and experience things I never thought possible.
After five years, I knew it was time to look at what was next on my path. I now serve in the Archdiocese of Chicago, working directly with 38 parishes in Vicariate VI to support pastors in renewal, evangelization, and parish vitality.

The Academics
Along the way, I began my graduate studies at what turned out to be the same university as Pope Leo XIV, the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. From CTU, I hold a Master's in Divinity, Class of 2025 (Pope Leo earned the same degree in 1982), and I plan to continue on for my Doctorate.
In addition to academics, I had the pleasure to travel and appear as a speaker for numerous events. The highlights include: World Youth Day 2023, National Catholic Education Associate, and the International Catholic Stewardship Conference.

The Other Half
At my side for many of these adventures is my trusted co-pilot, Carissa. We recently celebrated a year and a half of marriage. She helps me keep my sanity, while I slowly whittle hers down. Fun fact, this is our first photo together from 2019! My expert editor, she helps keep the site error free unless I forget to tell her I made an update.
